ROLE SUMMARY
The Financial Accountant will compile and analyze the organization's financial data, prepare financial reports, and communicate insights to department managers and company executives.
COMPENSATION
$38.50 to $43.50 per hour, depending on qualifications. Paid time off, health insurance benefits, and a 401(k) plan are also available for eligible team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Prepare detailed financial reports and projections including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Review and analyze monthly sales reports and financial statements and explain variances to the executive team.
- Work with internal teams to understand business requirements and provide financial guidance for decision-making.
- Assist VP of Accounting on various audits and special projects.
- Provide guidance and support to Accounts Receivable staff to ensure timely collections and billings.
- Monitor and analyze Accounts Receivable aging and collection performance.
- Prepare and manage monthly journals and account reconciliation to ensure accurate and complete financial statements.
- Maintain depreciation schedules and reconcile to general ledger monthly.
- Actively involved in annual review of financial statements and annual 401(k) plan administration.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
- Coordinate more complex accounting and financial projects and initiatives.
- Provide backup support for Senior Accountant and Contract Manager.
- Provide backup support for preparation of monthly and quarterly state sales tax filings.
- Provide backup support for Payroll and quarterly payroll tax filings.
- Participate in the implementation of programs that improve the Company’s performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field.
- At least 7 years of progressive work experience in similar role(s).
- CPA with 2 years of public accounting experience is preferred.
- Understanding of prevailing wages and certified payroll requirements is preferred.
- Experience with Sage 100 and Sage HRMS is a plus.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- High degree of professionalism, honesty, ownership, and integrity.

- Acute attention to detail and accuracy.
- Keen analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Strong organization time management, and multi-tasking skills.

- Highly proficient with MS Office programs and database management.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time and lift up to 20 pounds.
