Accounting Manager

ROLE SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager will maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; oversee and perform all accounting operations, including managing accounting records, managing and performing transactions, preparing financial reports, formulating budgets, controlling cost and expenses, and forecasting expenses and revenues. This position is also responsible for providing information to external auditors and complying with reporting requirements and tax filings.

PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.
  • Assist with monthly commission and bonus calculations.
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly and year-end financial reports.
  • Prepare and manage monthly journals and account reconciliation to ensure accurate and complete financial statements.
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly and quarterly sales tax returns and annual personal property tax returns.
  • Prepare and submit accurate quarterly payroll tax filings and annual W-2 reporting.
  • Assist in reconciling annual inventory and fixed assets processes.
  • Actively involved in annual review of financial statements and annual 401(k) plan oversight.
  • Provide backup support for accounting functions
  • Participate in the implementation of programs that improve company performance.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or other relevant field.
  • At least 10 years of progressive work experience in Accounting roles.
  • CPA with 2 years of public accounting experience preferred.
  • Sage 100 and Sage HRMS experience a plus.
  • Understanding of prevailing wages and certified payroll requirements.
  • Ability to direct and supervise a team.
  • High degree of professionalism, honesty, ownership, and integrity.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organization time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keen analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office programs and database management.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and lift up to 20 pounds.

COMPENSATION
Annual salary of $90K - $110K per year, depending on qualifications. Paid time off, health insurance benefits, and a 401(k) plan are also available for eligible team members.
